Annadil Burhani ‘B’ secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over A to Z in the ongoing PowerPack 20-over Arusha cricket tournament at the St. Constantine Grounds.
After winning the toss, the victor’s elected to bowl first and quickly put A to Z under pressure with regular breakthroughs. Taher Aziz was impressive with figures of 2 for 13 while Huzeifa Seifudin took 2 for 25 and Yusuf Jivanjee claimed 2 for 29.
A to Z managed to post 134 for 9 with Vijay Dhiman top-scoring with 38 runs. Mahipal Patel also made a useful contribution of 23 runs.
In response, Annadil Burhani controlled the chase well. Young Hani Mohamed played an important innings of 27 runs while Huzefa Max added 32 and Abbas Khanbhai contributed 29 in the middle order.
Annadil Burhani reached 137 for 3 in 18.3 overs to seal the win with three wickets down.
For A to Z, Baman Dilipsingh and Vijay Bhath were the only successful bowlers with Vijay Dhiman finishing on 1 for 19. The tournament continues at the same venue this weekend.
