Richard Gomes emerged victorious in the closely contested one-day Mahindra Golf Tournament held last week at the Arusha Gymkhana Club, securing top honours in Division One with a net score of 73.
Teji Bansal finished closely second with also net score of 73. Luv Lodhia came in third with net score of 73. The final standings were determined through countback rules, which favoured Gomes for the title and placed Bansal in second position.
In Division Two, Hiten Nathwani delivered an outstanding performance, leading the leaderboard with a 71 net score. He was followed by Kassim Somji (73 net) and Muzaffar Yusufali (74 net), both putting up solid rounds.
The Third Division also witnessed a tight contest. Bob Shuma claimed the top spot with a 74 net score, just ahead of Jatin Sonecha, who matched the score but settled for second place on countback. P. Niskala rounded out the top three with a net score of 75.
The Mahindra Cup was sponsored by the Arusha Art and GF Motors.
