EALA PLENARY RESUMES VIRTUALLY MONDAY

The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) will resume it its plenary session virtually on Monday and will stretch to July 8.

The session will consider and approve the East African Community (EAC) draft estimates for the 2025/2026 financial year, as well as the supplementary budget for 2024/2025, according to EALA communication circulated to the legislators.

The EAC Council of Ministers recently proposed a budget of USD 109,338,151 for the 2025/2026 financial year compared with USD 103,800,000 in fiscal year 2024/25, roughly a modest USD 5,533,151 rise in expenditure to fund the bloc’s operations.
