Batting first, Annadil posted 181/2 with Taher Aaziz unbeaten on 87 and Taha Nurbhai 43 not out. A to Z chased the target in 19.5 overs as Manni Kandan struck a commanding 80 not out, supported by Chandra Prakash on 25 not out and Guru Prakash with 29. Odad Nurbhai was the most successful bowler, finishing with 2/24.
MCC then made a strong statement with Aneesh Jeepron hammering 116 off 58 balls, well backed by Hiral Patel’s 43 from 16, as they reached 242/3. Kilimeru replied with 161/8, led by Imran Dhalla’s 52 while Patel took 2/21 and Jeepron 1/20.
Kilimeru faltered in the following match, bowled out for 102. Ali Asgar Hirji made 24 and Liyakhat Ali 20, but it was Farida Amiry who shone with the ball, claiming 2/10 alongside Aisha Mohd’s 2/12 and Juma Safari’s 2/17. The chasing side reached the target despite losing six wickets, with Linda Justine scoring 42 and Bwana Shabani 24. Kilimeru’s Hamza Saajan picked up 2/20.
Last weekend’s highlight came in game four when MCC’s Jeepron produced a breathtaking innings of 192 from just 75 balls, the second-highest individual score in the tournament’s history. Patel added 44 off 11 balls as MCC posted a record total of 332/4, the highest by any side in the competition. Annadil’s Boundary Bandits were restricted to 127/7, with Huzaeifa Max scoring 46 and Mustafa Januwala 42, as MCC cruised to a 200-run victory. Gandharghan claimed 3/34 and Yasir Patel 2/6 in a dominant bowling display.
The tournament continues this weekend at the same venue with more high-scoring encounters expected.
