ACC CLINCH 2025 ‘SIXER’ LEAGUE

By The Arusha News Reporter

ACC defeated MCC in a thrilling final to claim this year’s Arusha six-a-side tournament after successfully chasing down a target of 77 runs with five balls to spare at the St. Constanstine School ground.

Earlier in the day, MCC ended Kilimeru’s run in the first semi-final while ACC secured a convincing win against A to Z in the second, setting up the highly anticipated clash.

Winning the toss, ACC captain Gurpreet Singh opted to field first.

MCC began strongly through Anish Jepron and Hiral Patel but a tight over from Vinay Kumar– which cost just five runs and included Hiral’s dismissal – slowed their progress.

MCC eventually posted 76/1 from their allotted five overs, though at one stage they had looked set for a larger total.

ACC’s reply was led by openers Jainam Bapu and Harshil Patel, who attacked from the outset and put MCC’s bowlers under pressure.

Despite the efforts of newly signed all-rounder Jenu Pandya, ACC maintained control of the chase. Jainam retired after a quick contribution, leaving 14 runs required. Karimu and Harshil then guided ACC across the line, sealing the victory and the championship.
