ACC secured a thrilling 11-run victory over A to Z in the ongoing Arusha Regional 20-Over Cricket Tournament at St. Constantine’s School Ground last week.
After losing the toss, ACC were put in to bat and struggled early, slipping to 82/6. Prasad Boginneni held the top order together with 25 runs, while Shyam Soni anchored the lower order with an unbeaten 48, guiding ACC to a competitive 137/8.
A to Z’s bowlers shared the spoils—Sundar KMS led with 3/17, supported by Dushant Singh (3/33) and Vijay Bhath (2/25).
In reply, A to Z were in dire straits at 60/7 before Mani Pal and Vijay Bhath mounted a spirited 60-run stand. However, a late-order collapse saw the last three wickets tumble for just six runs, handing ACC a narrow 11-run win.
Parimal Patel was the standout with the ball for ACC, taking 4/13. Boginneni added to his all-round performance with 3/23, while Gurpreet chipped in with 2/36.
In the day’s second fixture, Telugu won the toss and elected to bat, putting up an impressive 184/9. Middle-order contributions from Muthyla Kiran (37) and Kelvin Njililnji (61) were key to the total.
MCC’s Srinidhi A (2/28) and Yasir Patel (2/30) picked up wickets, but the chase never got going. MCC were bundled out for just 105, with Yasir Patel’s 25 the only notable resistance.
Telugu’s bowlers kept things tight, with Hiral Patel taking 3/24, Azad 2/19 and Muthyla Kiran capping off a strong day with 1/13. Telugu cruised to a 79-run victory.
