Arusha’s golfer Madina Idd finished second in the 2025 Kenya Ladies Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship held at Sigona Golf Club in Kiambu, last week.
She finished with a total of 227 strokes over the 54-hole tournament which was won by Kenyan golfer Kelie Gachaga of Muthaiga Golf Club, with a total of 226 strokes.
Madina’s performance was commendable, especially considering the competitive field and challenging course conditions.
Her consistent play underscores her status as one of East Africa’s leading female golfers.
Another Tanzanian golfer Vicky Elias secured fifth place with a total of 253 strokes.
The championship attracted a competitive field of 89 golfers from hosts Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Great Britain.
