The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) has organised a marathon aimed at raising over Sh 500 million to support three special needs schools for the deaf in Kilimanjaro and Njombe regions.
According to ELCT Communication Officer, Erick Adolph, the marathon is slated for June 21, 2025, as part of the celebrations to mark the 62nd anniversary of the ELCT in Tanzania that was formed on June 19, 1963.
The beneficiaries will include the Mwanga Primary School for the deaf in Kilimanjaro Region and a primary and a secondary school for the deaf in Njombe Region.
