The St. Constantine’s cricket ground last weekend hosted thrilling semi-final and final matches that culminated in Kilimeru Cricket Club lifting their maiden trophy in style.

In the first semi-final, ACC faced Tellegu, with Kelvin Njilinji stealing the show. Njilinji smashed a blistering 111 runs off just 43 balls while Wilbert added a quickfire 30 from 13 deliveries, taking Tellegu to a commanding 171/1.

ACC faltered in their reply, managing only 97/7. Karimu Athmani top-scored with 34 off 19 balls while Harshil delivered a lethal bowling spell of 4 wickets for just 4 runs in two overs.

The second semi-final saw A to Z post 59/3, with Gobi Nath contributing 22 from 17 balls. The modest target was comfortably chased down with four overs to spare as skipper Mujtaba Saajan led from the front with 41 off 22 balls. His side sealed victory at 62/1 in just six overs.

The much-anticipated final pitted Kilimeru against Tellegu. Batting first, Tellegu again relied on Njilinji, who scored a quick 58 off 26 balls to set 110/3.

However, Kilimeru rose to the occasion in their chase. Shahab Haider turned the match on its head with a stunning 78 off just 28 balls, ensuring Kilimeru reached 111/3 with an over to spare.

The victory marked Kilimeru’s first-ever trophy at St. Constantine’s, a milestone achievement celebrated by players and fans alike.
