The ongoing Arusha Cricket League at the St Constantine’s School grounds has maintained its competitive edge, with supporters enjoying high-quality cricket and flashes of brilliance from local talent.
In Game One, TCA won the toss and elected to bat first against MCC.
Tight bowling from MCC kept the scoring under control, restricting TCA to 87 for 7. Michael Justine top-scored with 27 runs, anchoring the innings amid disciplined fielding and consistent pressure.
Yasir Patel led MCC’s bowling attack superbly, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 17 to put his side in a commanding position.
Chasing a target of 88, MCC paced their innings well, reaching 87 for 4 in 13 overs to seal the victory. Gautham top-scored with 30 runs while Yasir Patel capped off an excellent all-round performance with an unbeaten 15 to guide MCC home.
The second match of the day was postponed after news of the passing of ACC’s Dipul Daulat’s grandmother reached the ground.
In respect of Dipul and his family, players and organisers unanimously agreed to call off the fixture.
League officials are expected to communicate a new date for the postponed encounter in due course.
The League continues this weekend at the same venue.
