TCA claimed a narrow victory over MCC in a closely-fought cricket encounter in the on-going Arusha Region Under-20 tournament, after setting a modest target of 102 runs at the St Constantine’s Cricket Ground.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, TCA posted 102/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Linda Justine anchored the innings with a resilient unbeaten 25, supported by Aish Mohamed and Michael Justine, who chipped in with 12 runs each. MCC’s Navneet Sharma was the standout performer with the ball, claiming an impressive 4 wickets for just 12 runs to restrict the TCA batting line-up.
In response, MCC fell just short, being bowled out for 93 runs in the final over. Ritvik top-scored with 26 while Bharat Patel added 20, but the rest of the batting order struggled to keep up with the required rate. TCA’s bowlers held their nerve under pressure, with Juma Safari leading the attack with figures of 3 for 16 and Farida Amiri contributing with 2 for 19.
