TELLEGU STORM INTO ARUSHA CRICKET FINAL

Tellegu secured a spot in the final of the Tria Chem Stuart Memorial Cup after defeating Annadil in a thrilling semi-final clash last weekend.

Winning the toss, Tellegu opted to bat and got off to a strong start, with Brahman Aswl and Muthyla Kiran putting up a 74-run opening partnership.

In the event of middle-order setbacks, Wilbert Tibert steadied the innings with a crucial 64-run knock. Tellegu set up a competitive total of 199 for 9.

From the Annadil bowling side, Hussein Upah, Hamza Tozi and Huzeifa each claimed two wickets.

In response, Annadil stumbled early, losing three quick wickets during the powerplay. Hamza Total fought back with a resilient 45 runs, supported by Hussein Upah’s 23, but the team was eventually bowled out for 186 in the 18th over.

Vinay Kumar led the bowling attack with an impressive five-wicket haul for just 24 runs while Kiran took two wickets and Brahman added one to his tally.

Annadil had earlier defeated MCCByn twice en route to their place in the semi-finals.

Tellegu will now face ACC in the final, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, June 1, at St Constantine’s cricket grounds, with the match set to begin at 10 a.m.
