A to Z Women’s Cricket team secured a dominant 55-run victory over the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) development side in the opening match of their three-game series held at the Arusha Gymkhana Club ground last Saturday.
Batting first after winning the toss, A to Z posted a competitive total of 170 for 6 in their 20 overs. Top-order batter Neema Justin led the charge with a solid 45 off 38 balls, while skipper Monica Pascal added a quick-fire 32 to ensure a strong finish.
For TCA, Aisha Mohamed was the standout bowler, returning impressive figures of 4 for 23, while Farida Amiry chipped in with 2 for 25.
In reply, TCA managed 115 for 3 in their allotted overs. Linda Justine top-scored with 39 and Juma Safary added 35 but the target proved beyond reach.
Guru Prakash claimed 2 for 25 to help seal a comprehensive 55-run victory for A to Z.
The second game of the series was called-off due to heavy rain.
The league continues this weekend at the same venue.
