The Arusha Motor Sports Club (AMSC) has been crowned Club of the Year 2025 during the annual Best Drivers’ Gala held last week in Dar es Salaam.

The award was announced at a colourful ceremony which was attended by rally drivers, navigators and teams which participated in the just-ended National Rally Championship (NRC).

The AMSC award was received by Manmeet Birdi, a former Chairman of the club.

“I am happy with the award and the recognition,” said Manmeet after receiving his prize.

AMSC Secretary Monica Lyimo told The Arusha News: “We have retained our position as the best club after nearly two years of lapse. We are absolutely excited about this achievement.”

During the same gala, veteran rally driver Ahmed Huwel was officially crowned the 2025 NRC overall champion.

His disciplined approach and steady finishes throughout the championship secured him the national title.

Manmeet (Assas Rally Team) was also crowned overall Navigator Champion of the 2025 NRC with a total of 155 points. He finished ahead of Dave Sihoka (co-driver of Arusha’s Gurpal Sandhu), who secured 110 points while Ally Hamoud came third with 102 points.
