More than 500 editors, journalists and media stakeholders are expected to attend the 2nd Pan-African Media Councils Summit scheduled for July 14–17 at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC).
Organised by the Network of Independent Media Councils of Africa (NIMCA), in collaboration with the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) and the East Africa Press Councils (EAPC), the summit will be held under the theme: “Advancing Media and Communication Regulations for Journalism Excellence in Africa.”
NIMCA Board Secretary, Ms Ziada Kilobo, said the summit aims to strengthen media regulatory frameworks to promote journalistic standards and press freedom across the continent.
“The event will provide a platform to exchange best practices, address challenges facing African media and propose innovative policy and regulatory approaches to uphold ethical journalism,” Ms Kilobo told The Arusha News.
