The national rally season is set to get underway with an exciting opening event scheduled for April 25 and 26 in Dar es Salaam. Drivers from across the country and beyond will converge for the first round of the championship.
Defending champion Ahmed Huwel from Iringa begins his title defence at the Kisarawe Rally facing what is expected to be a competitive field. Huwel, who secured the 2025 National Rally Championship (NRC) title, will be looking to maintain his dominance against strong challengers.
Event Director Erfan Aladin said that Huwel, leading the Mkwawa Rally Team, remains one of the top contenders in a competitive line-up that includes teams from Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Morogoro and Tanga.
More than 25 cars are expected to line up for the flag-off on April 25, marking a strong start to the season.
Confirmed teams include Assas, Amapiano, Jua Kali, Tufail and Pandya Rally Team, all from Dar es Salaam. Kilimanjaro will be represented by Harri Singh’s team while Arusha’s hopes rest on Gurpal Sandhu’s outfit.
