The officers were killed instantly while on patrol duty when they were struck by lightning at Mirerani in Simanjiro District.
The incident occurred amid a sudden heavy downpour in the area. The officers were travelling on a motorcycle at the time of the strike.
The names of the fallen officers were given as Constable Joseph Nyamoko and Constable Issa Masoud.
Regional authorities said the incident served as a tragic reminder of the dangers posed by severe weather to law enforcement personnel in the line of duty.
