TELLEGU FACE ANNADIL IN SEMI-FINAL SHOWDOWN

Annadil defeated MCC by 9 wickets in a thrilling qualifier match in the Tria Chem Stuart Memorial Cup played at the St. Constatine ground last weekend.

Chasing down a target of 113 in under eight overs. Taheer Aziz was the star of the show, smashing an unbeaten 77 off just 25 balls, ably supported by Hamza Total, who remained not out on 23. With the ball, Hani Mohamed led the attack, claiming three wickets – continuing his excellent form with both bat and ball.

In the second semi-final, Tellegu batted first and posted 103/8. Azad top-scored with 29, while Wilbert contributed 23 and captain Vinay Kumar held the innings together with an unbeaten 23. From the ACC bowling unit, Parimal Patel and Karimu picked up 2 wickets apiece.

ACC’s chase was guided by a steady knock from Shyam Soni, who remained unbeaten on 32. He was well supported by Baraku, who added 24 in the middle order. ACC comfortably chased down the target, finishing at 104/3 in 13 overs. Azad and Brahma claimed a wicket each for Tellegu.

Tellegu will now face Annadil tomorrow May 25 in the deciding semi-final match. The winner will meet ACC in the grand final on June 1.
