EALA BIDS FAREWELL TO LONG-SERVING STAFF

The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) has showered praise to five senior members of staff who have retired for their exceptional commitment and long-standing service to the East African Community (EAC).

In a virtual plenary session chaired by Speaker Joseph Ntakirutimana, EALA members unanimously adopted a resolution praising the officers for their resilience and technical support during a period marked by staffing shortages.

Among the honoured were the Assembly’s Clerk, Mr Charles Ngeleja Kadonya who served for 19 years, Mr Alfred Tugume, known for leading key economic and trade committees, was recognised for his decade of service and Mr Asheri Michael Wimile, who worked closely with the legal and natural resource committees.

Others were Mr Ezekiel Nyakwara Migosi, who served for 23 years in various operational roles including as Sergeant-at-Arms and Ms Anastacia Mbeba, credited for modernising the Hansard reporting system during her 10-year tenure with the regional legislative body.
