The competition, running under the theme “Empower Beyond,” has attracted contestants from diverse regions, showcasing not only beauty but also intellect, leadership and social impact.

Organisers say this year’s edition is designed to highlight young women who can represent Tanzania on the global stage with confidence and purpose.

Among the finalists are five representatives from Dar es Salaam: Celline Joseph Mollel, Hilda Ephraim Kibonde, Shifa Adam Rajab, Evelyn Charles Raphael and Naisae Yona. From Zanzibar are Zulfa Yazid Suliman and Sarah Joseph who will carry the Isles’ flag.

Arusha has fielded three strong contenders – Rania Khalid, Salma George Mwakalukwa and Glory Elias Letayo – while Mbeya is represented by Doreen Makere Nikonea. Mwanza brings forward Sipora Buchumi and Honarine Byela Ally, Dodoma finalists are Janeth Anselme Takunga and Brenda Callixte Kanamugile.

The Miss Universe Tanzania platform has long been regarded as a launchpad for young women into national and international recognition. Beyond glamour, the pageant integrates mentorship and leadership training, preparing contestants to address issues that affect communities across the country.

The winner will represent Tanzania at the Miss Universe 2025 World Finals, carrying not only the nation’s beauty and elegance but also its voice on global issues such as women’s empowerment, education and sustainable development.
