KILIMERU BLAZE PAST ANNADIL IN ALI CHOMOKO MEMORIAL CRICKET CUP

Cricket fans in Arusha were treated to thrilling encounters in the ongoing Ali Chomoko Memorial Cricket League at the St. Constatine’s Ground when Kilimeru delivered a dominant all-round display against Annadil, whereas Tellegu made light work of Kilimeru 313 in a one-sided chase.

Batting first, Kilimeru set the stage ablaze with a commanding total of 287 for 5. The charge was led by Abbas Shivji, who remained unbeaten on 64, showcasing classy stroke play throughout. Imran Dhalla added a solid 40 while Hamza Saajan chipped in with a quickfire 39, ensuring Kilimeru crossed the 250 mark with ease.

Annadil’s bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, though Hamza Hakimjee bowled with heart, taking 2 for 39.

In reply, Annadil never found their rhythm and could only muster 72 for 7 against Kilimeru’s disciplined bowling attack. Murtaza Chomoko fought a lone battle with an unbeaten 25 but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.

Kilimeru’s Imran Dhalla proved equally lethal with the ball, returning figures of 3 for 8, while Mujtaba Saajan picked up 2 for 23, sealing an emphatic victory.

In another clash, Kilimeru 313 elected to bat after winning the toss but faltered under pressure, posting a modest 110 for 8. Mohammed Mazhar top-scored with 38, supported by Shakeel Sheriff with 29. Tellegu’s Deslin starred with the ball, claiming 2 for 11 in a tight spell.

Tellegu made the chase look effortless, racing to 111 for 2 in just eight overs. Wilbert led the charge with an elegant 47 not out while Mohammed Husain chipped in with a brisk 12 not out, wrapping up the match in style.

The league continues this weekend.
