The Kilimanjaro Marathon 2026 will take place on 22 March next year in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region.
The annual event, one of East Africa’s most celebrated road races, is expected to attract over 12,000 participants from across Tanzania and around the world.
The official launch of the marathon was held in Dar es Salaam a fortnight ago, bringing together sponsors, athletics officials and tourism stakeholders. Organisers announced that the 2026 edition will feature the traditional 42 km full marathon, 21 km half marathon, and 5 km fun run, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Speaking during the launch, the organisers said that the event not only promotes sports and healthy living but also boosts local tourism and economic activities in Moshi.
The marathon continues to draw elite runners and amateurs alike, making it one of Tanzania’s premier sporting and tourism events.
