Players born between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2015 are eligible to compete and the participant entry fee is TZS 5,000.
The much-awaited Tanzania Tennis Association (TTA) Under-14 National Junior Tournament begins today at the Arusha Gymkhana Club, bringing together some of the country’s most promising young players for two days of competition. The tournament, organized jointly by TTA and the Arusha Gymkhana Club, has attracted 40 players from Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Morogoro and Dodoma. It is considered one of the most important events on the national junior tennis calendar as it helps identify talent for future international competitions.

Among the boys, notable entrants include Ali Rajabu, Ibrahim Said, Ibrahim Jibe and Kevin Mdee. In the girls’ category, strong contenders such as Janeth Massawe, Gracious Shayo and Faraja Mbise are expected to prove their skills and brilliance. Arusha Gymkhana Club coach Nicolaus Leringa said that this week’s event was final before selecting the national team for the Eastern African Championship 2026. He urged residents to turn up and support the rising stars.
