Speaking during the recent opening of the bridge, Councillor, Alhaj Ally Pendo said the project fulfilled a promise he made to the residents during his campaign for office.
“This bridge links Msaranga and Ng’ambo wards, which depend on each other for various social and economic services,” he said.
He explained that Ng’ambo Ward hosts key services including a dispensary, a mosque and churches, which many residents of Msaranga could not easily access during the rainy season due to flooding.
Ng’ambo Ward Councillor Gadiel Mrema also welcomed the development, saying floods had often prevented residents from crossing between the two wards to access essential services.
