More than Sh 40 million has been raised for vulnerable children during a charity golf tournament held in Arusha last weekend.
The funds were mobilised during the seventh International Diplomatic Charity Golf Tournament held at the Kili Golf Club in Usa River, Arumeru District, which brought together diplomats, corporate players and golf enthusiasts from across East Africa.
The two-day event attracted participants from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, combining competitive sport with a fundraising initiative aimed at supporting education and welfare programmes for disadvantaged children.
More than 80 golfers, organised into teams, took part in the tournament.
Nathalia Isaya and William Loderer secured top honours with 46 points, edging out Thimea Choggo and Neema Olomi, who finished second with 45 points.
The tournament was organised by the Songea Missisipipi Foundation in partnership with Kili Golf, with support from corporate sponsors including NMB Bank.
