BY THE ARUSHA NEWS REPORTER

ARUSHA ace players Madina Idd Hussein and Neema Olomi have been selected for the national women’s golf team that will represent Tanzania at the 2026 All-Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) in Abuja, Nigeria, next month.

The two Arusha Gymkhana Club golfers will be joined by Hawa Wanyeche of Dar es Salaam’s TPDF Lugalo Golf Club.

Madina will captain the side whereas Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) Vice-President Ayne Magombe has been appointed team manager.

Scheduled for November 2-7 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club, the championship will test the Tanzanian trio against leading women golfers from across the continent.

Announcing the selection in Dar es Salaam, Magombe said 20 countries had so far confirmed their participation. Among them are hosts Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The country secured second place in Abuja in 2010 before matching that result in Accra, Ghana, in 2018.
