A BABY IS BORN

SAKINA S. DOSSAJI

BY SAKINA S. DOSSAJI

It comes blaring with trumpets
The call of joy
When a baby is born.

The shrieks of anguish is heard far and beyond
When death separates you from your own.

Tears of happiness fills the eyes
When achievements
are trumped,
Applause earned.

Ups and downs,
Highs and lows,
Are all part of life,
Life is laced with strife.

Just the way
A thorn is far away not,
From a rose,
Rich, red beauty lusciously flawed.

Embrace the sunshine
When it fills your heart and home,
Endure the bursts of storm
And sing your melodious song.

Be happy, be merry
Rejoice,
Love, laugh and live.

For who promised,
The birth of morrow,
Live in the moment,
And push bygones far beyond.

We stumble, we fall,
We win, we lose,
No pain, no gain.

Touch not the wound,
For it to heal,
Hide not the scars
For it tells a story
Of its own.

Your kindness touched a soul
Will you then be forgotten
Even after
The flame of your candle is gone?

Watch what you say or do,
Karma is wafting through,
Make a mark in the world,
Spread peace and harmony,
We live but only once,
Let the stars shine
And waltz in your eyes sublime.
