KARIBU-KILI FAIR OPENS WITH TOURISM OPTIMISM IN ARUSHA

The Karibu-Kili Fair opened yesterday at Magereza Grounds in Arusha, breathing fresh life into the city’s tourism business calendar.

The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Ashatu Kijaji, officially opened this year’s fair, which has attracted 550 exhibitors, including 13 foreign participants.

According to the fair’s Coordinator, Mr Dominic Shoo, preparations had moved smoothly, with exhibitors almost completing their stalls and tents ahead of the opening.

“We are looking forward to a very successful Fair,” Mr Shoo told The Arusha News.

The first day was dedicated to exhibitors and business networking, while the fair will be open for public today and tomorrow.

This year’s exhibitors include tour operators, hotels, lodges, tourism service providers, suppliers, travel companies, arts and crafts dealers, food vendors and other tourism-linked businesses.

Widely promoted as Karibu-Kilifair, the annual event remains one of East Africa’s key tourism trade exhibitions, connecting local operators with international travel agents, buyers and visitors.

For Arusha, the fair strengthens its position as the gateway to Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Mount Kilimanjaro.
