About 2,000 local and international runners have confirmed participation for the second edition of the Cape to Cairo Marathon, which will be held in Arusha next Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The event will start and finish at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Memorial Stadium.
According to the event coordinator, Timothy Mdinka, preparations for the marathon are progressing well.
“Everything is moving smoothly for the marathon,” Mdinka told The Arusha News.
The marathon will feature 42 kilometres, 21 kilometres, 10 kilometres, 5 kilometres and a 2.5-kilometre race for children.
The event is expected to attract local and international runners, adding to Arusha’s growing profile as a destination for sports tourism and major public events.
