Telugu defeated A to Z by four wickets whereas Kilimeru and MCC played out a thrilling tie in the ongoing Syed Ali Khamenei Memorial Cricket Tournament at the St Constantine School Grounds in Arusha.
After winning the toss, A to Z elected to bat first against Telugu and posted 146 for four wickets. Dixit top-scored with 78 runs while Baman Dilipsinh contributed 48.
Karthik was Telugu’s most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 20 runs.
In reply, Telugu reached the target in the 15th over with six wickets down. Karimu led the chase with 45 runs while Jinith Baman was A to Z’s leading wicket-taker with figures of two wickets for 36 runs.
In the other match, Kilimeru won the toss and elected to field against MCC. MCC scored 177 for five wickets with Jainam Patel making 62 runs and Mbwana Shabani adding 46.
Hamza Sajan was Kilimeru’s most successful bowler, taking two wickets for 32 runs.
Kilimeru responded strongly through Shahab Haider, who struck a brilliant 87, while Alijawad Sheriff supported him with 41 runs.
The match ended in a tie after Kilimeru reached 177 for seven wickets, with both teams earning one point.
