Cyril Brown will be seeking to defend his title when this year’s Four Points by Sheraton Arusha, The Arusha Hotel Golf Tournament takes place next Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Arusha Gymkhana Golf Course.
Brown won last year’s tournament after dominating Division C with an impressive 49 points, the highest score of the day, to emerge as the overall champion.
“I am set to defend my title”, he told The Arusha News.
According to the organisers, more than 60 golfers are expected to participate in this year’s competition, which will feature different divisions, ladies and guest categories, as well as special prizes for the Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin.
Last year’s tournament attracted more than 60 players, including 17 golfers from Kenya’s Muthaiga, Thika Greens and Ruiru golf clubs.
Meanwhile, Praveen Kumar emerged as the overall winner of the Captain’s Trophy Golf Competition after carding an impressive 39 stableford points at the Arusha Gymkhana Club, last weekend.
In Division One, Richard Gomes secured the top position with 36 points. Obadia John Ayo finished as runner-up after returning 34 points.
Division Two produced a closely contested finish with Sahil Soor and Muzzafar Yusufali both recording 36 points. Soor was declared the winner following a countback over the last six holes.
The Division Three title was also decided through countback after George Ogutu and Avtar Singh Neote each scored 37 points. Ogutu claimed the division’s top prize based on his performance over the last nine holes, while Neote finished second following a countback over the last six holes.
