The football drums will soon be loud,
With flags above a cheering crowd,
And every uncle suddenly proud.
Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania stand,
Together with a football plan,
Three neighbours joining hand in hand.
‘Pamoja’ means togetherness,
A simple word with great finesse,
Three nations dressed in football dress.
And Arusha lifts her head with pride,
With Meru standing at her side,
A northern jewel with room to guide.
If football journeys through her door,
She’ll serve the continent something more—
A city, a welcome and a mountain view in store.
