Long ago, the clever Tortoise decided to gather all the wisdom in the world into a single clay pot so he could keep it all to himself.
He sealed the pot tight and set out to climb the tallest baobab tree in the savannah, tying the heavy vessel right to his chest. No matter how hard he tried, he kept slipping, bumping his shell against the bark and tumbling back down to the dirt.
A little John bounded past and giggled, “Uncle Tortoise, why don’t you tie that big pot to your back instead?”
The Tortoise paused in shock. Realising that a child still held wisdom he had never thought of, his pride broke into pieces.
In a fit of anger, he flung the pot to the ground. It shattered on a stone, releasing wisdom into the wind for everyone.
