Nairobi, Friday.
Arusha’s top golfer Madina Idd has made a promising start at the ongoing Kenya Ladies Amateur Stroke Play Championship, which teed off yesterday at Limuru Country Club.
The 2023 champion, who entered the three-day tournament determined to reclaim her title, showed early composure and sharp form in the opening round, positioning herself among the early contenders.
“I am determined to relive the 2023 moments,” Madina told The Arusha News ahead of the tournament.
She is competing alongside fellow Tanzanian and rising star Aalaa Somji, with the duo aiming to make a strong impression against a competitive East African field.
The championship, organised under the Kenya Ladies Golf Union calendar, has attracted more than 70 top amateur golfers from across the region, including leading players from Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. Contested over 54 holes of stroke play, the tournament places a premium on consistency across all three rounds.
