Arusha’s top rally driver Gurpal Sandhu is one of the favourites in tomorrow’s (Sunday, August 2, 2026) Euro Cables Rally of Kisarawe, where he will compete alongside co-driver Dave Sihoka in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Sandhu will be seeking a strong result after a mechanical failure ended his promising run in the previous rally. The experienced driver had been performing extremely well and remained in contention for a leading position until his car developed drive-shaft trouble on the final day, forcing the crew to withdraw.
“This time, we are hoping everything goes well,” Sandhu told The Arusha News ahead of the weekend competition.
The rally, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in Kisarawe District, Coast Region, is expected to attract leading crews competing in the Tanzania National Rally Championship.
Sandhu’s pace in the previous event has placed him among the drivers to watch, although reliability will be crucial on Kisarawe’s demanding stages as he targets a podium finish.
