TELEGU ON WINNING SPREE

TELEGU registered a commanding 142-run victory over Anadil Burhani in the ongoing Syed Ali Khamenei Memorial Tournament at St. Constantine’s Grounds in Arusha, last weekend.

After electing to bat first, Telegu piled up an imposing 255 for four with Wilbert leading the charge with a superb 110. Vasant also played a major role, remaining unbeaten on 90 as Telegu set Burhnani’s daunting target.

For Burhani, Tayab returned figures of 1/4 while Mohd Shabbir claimed 1/31.

In reply, Burhani were bowled out for 113, with Mufadal Essaji top-scoring with 26 and Taha Nurbhai adding 25.

Deslin was the outstanding bowler for Telegu, taking 4/27 while Karthik picked up 2/18 to complete the emphatic victory.

In another match at the same venue, ACC defeated Kilimeru by 45 runs after producing a solid all-round performance.

Kilimeru won the toss and elected to field, putting ACC in to bat first.

Veer Makwana anchored the ACC innings with an impressive 90, while Sachin Agarwal contributed 35 in the middle order.

Gaurav Pandey added 25 towards the end of the innings as ACC posted 172 for seven.

Kilimeru could not overhaul the target and finished on 127 for eight. Mujtaba Sajan led their resistance with 44, while Shahab Haider contributed 31.

Pandey completed a fine all-round performance by taking 3/18 Mannan claimed 2/15 while Parimal Patel returned figures of 2/28 to help ACC seal the 45-run victory.

The Tournament continues at St. Constantine’s Grounds tomorrow.
