Arusha’s Milestones Children Therapy Clinic has been recognized at the Fourth Rehabilitation Summit held in Dar es Salaam last week for its contribution to the growth and development of rehabilitation services in Tanzania, marking an important milestone for the clinic and the wider rehabilitation profession.
The recognition reflects the Njiro-based clinic’s continued efforts to support children and families while contributing to the advancement of occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and other rehabilitation services in the country.
Established in 2024 and inspired by the late Pavit Raja, Milestones Children Therapy Clinic was founded with a commitment to supporting children with neurological and developmental challenges. The clinic provides specialised rehabilitation and therapy services aimed at helping children reach their full potential, while also supporting their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
Speaking following the recognition, the clinic’s Occupational Therapist, Mr Sudi Muli, expressed gratitude to rehabilitation professionals across Tanzania who continue to strengthen the sector through learning, innovation and improved service delivery.
Special appreciation was also extended to the Milestones Clinic team and its volunteers, whose dedication, creativity and commitment have played a central role in the clinic’s work.
The clinic further thanked the organisers of the Rehabilitation Summit, led by Remla Shirima, a Tanzanian healthcare leader, physiotherapist and Founder and Executive Director of Rehab Health, for creating a platform that brings together professionals, institutions and stakeholders working to shape the future of rehabilitation in Tanzania.
According to the clinic, the award was not only a recognition of achievements made so far but also a reminder of the need to continue building stronger, more accessible and more effective rehabilitation services.
The recognition comes as rehabilitation professionals in Tanzania continue to advocate for greater awareness, collaboration and investment in services that support children, families and communities across the country.
