HUMAN SIDE OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION

Sophie Mirambo

Today, instead of explaining the law, I’d like to share a thought about the people behind it. Many see lawyers as individuals who know everything and can solve every legal problem.

The reality is different. The title Learned Counsel reflects a lifelong commitment to learning. Every case demands hours of research, analysis and preparation to provide the best possible representation.

What many see is the appearance in court; what they rarely see are the late nights spent reading files, drafting submissions and studying the law. Like every profession, we work hard to serve those who place their trust in us.

Legal fees often reflect years of education, experience and careful preparation not simply the few minutes spent signing a document or appearing before a judge.

When you meet a lawyer, remember that behind the suit is a professional committed to justice, continuous learning and serving others with diligence and integrity.
