The Rotary Club of Njiro Arusha has promised that a long-overdue community library will be completed within a year.
The promise was made by the new President of the club, Tanzania’s prominent politician, diplomat and philanthropist, Amb Daniel Ole Njoolay, during his installation last weekend.
Amb Ole Njoolay said the establishment of a community library in Njiro was one of the club’s major dream projects and called on members, partners and well-wishers to join hands in supporting the initiative. The library project is envisaged to cost about TShs 500 million and will be able to cater for about 300 visitors and students when completed.
He said despite being a young club with a small membership, the Rotary Club of Njiro had already undertaken significant community projects and was determined to continue serving society.
“The Rotary Club of Njiro Arusha is a very young club. This is the sixth year,” he said.
Amb Ole Njoolay said his leadership would focus on continuing existing projects, growing membership and taking the club into its first major grant-supported project.
The new president said his installation marked the third time he has served as a Rotary president, a sign of his long-standing commitment to the Rotary movement.
He first served as Charter President of the Sumbawanga Rotary Club in 2008 before becoming Charter President of the Rotary Club of Njiro Arusha in 2021
